B.O.S.S... Its a Movement

We're often asked...What are your goals for the B.O.S.S Movement? B.O.S.S is a uniquely positioned (built from the bottom up) organization that has one (1) mission... and that is to teach people how to become self-sufficient. B.O.S.S. is an acronym that stands for Building Our Self Sufficiency. We are a cooperative organization on a mission to end generational poverty. We know this is an ambitious goal, (you wouldn't be a BOSS if you lacked ambition) and this is why we are reaching out to our fellow bosses to enlist YOU in this movement!

You may be asking the questions Who? Us. What? End Generational Poverty. When? by year 2031. Where? everywhere we live, work, and play. Why? because happiness belongs to the self-sufficient and everyone deserves to be happy! How? Commitment + Communication=Stronger Communities

Steps We Need to Take to Strengthen Our Communities:
  • Remove what no longer works
  • Don't concentrate on process, focus on progress
  • Align communication to include a common commitment
  • STOP playing defense and being reactionary
  • Unselfish cooperation of individuals

Our Vision: We will eliminate generational poverty through education, market based social entrepreneurship, and community service.

Building
  • A group of individual investors through the use of crowd-funding
  • Walkable neighborhoods in order to reduce reliance on the oil and the auto industry
  • United economic structures where we invest in ourselves and communities
  • Sustainable communities by creating businesses that can be passed on from generation to generation
  • Self determination in individuals. We must determine our worth, not minimum wage laws.
Our
  • Education system should be liberating and teach us how to change the undesirable conditions in our personal lives, families, and communities
  • Health & Wellness is not limited to our physical condition it must also include our emotional, mental, and spiritual health as well
  • Housing has to be energy efficient and affordable with many low income people spending more than 30% of their income on housing, its time to build a system in which we effectively address this
  • Businesses have suffered from lack of growth and sustainability because we fail to recycle our community dollars. Many of us have developed the destructive habit of spending more than 80% of our money outside of our community
Self
  • Reliance, we must learn to rely on God first, then self, then family and friends in order for us to maximize community growth and sustainability
  • Worth, we must understand that we are all valuable and must share our gifts by committing to work for ourselves on behalf of each other
  • Respect, we are all here on purpose and we must contribute our time and talents to uplift the masses
  • Determination, we must gain control of our lives and not look to people outside of ourselves to end our pain and suffering
Sufficiency
  • Education
  • Food
  • Clothes
  • Shelter
This blog will serve as a information clearinghouse to help us all realize the BOSS vision. As we embark on this journey we can't focus on what we don't have we must remain mindful of what we do possess...

Adopt-a-Block

PSA : Public Service Announcement This is a message for local, regional, statewide and national ministries. We are looking to develop an alliance between families, faith based organizations, schools, CBO's, public officials, business owners, and various members of our communities to combat the injustices created by poverty.  We would like to discuss collaborating on comprehensive service coordination, sustainable housing options, and ways we can ALL contribute to making positive social and environmental change for people suffering through this pandemic in our communities.  Many individuals living in areas where poverty is high, need: A safe and stable place to live Legal means of financial support Health, mental health, and sobriety support services and,  Relationship with people who can support there success We are proposing using an Adopt-A-Block strategy to address these needs. An Impossible Life, Life Without Possibility

Should we be held accountable for the rest of our lives for a choice that we made when we were 13 years old? This is exactly the question asked by the    over 2500  individuals in America serving Life Without the Possibility of Parole. To give a child a death sentence shines a glaring light on our morally bankrupt society and our injustice system. Psychologist have recently published reports stating that the human brain has not fully developed until 25, calls into question this long promoted idea that you’re an adult at 18! JUST THE FACTS Did you know? The majority of sentences to life without parole for youth have been imposed in states where judges are obligated to impose it as a mandatory sentence, without consideration of any factors relating to a child’s age or life circumstances. More than 25% of people serving life without parole after being sentenced as children were convicted of felony murder or accomplice liability, meaning they were no...
